I luv you this much...

I forgot I had this piece, I made it a couple of months ago. It is created on hot press watercolor paper. I prefer cold press for the texture. The colors came out just the way I like them, bright!

Illustration Friday, Hidden "Signs"

Nature has a way of telling us what the "signs" are. Birds, flowers, trees, rain forests, etc. We need to pay attention to the "signs" before it's too late.

My most favorite art in the whole world

My son made this for me in an art class when he was 7 years old. It is made out of ceramic clay. Over the years (he's 16 now), it had faded so much you couldn't see any features. For mother's day I asked him to re-paint it for me and he did! I just love the lips!

Doodles

I never considered practicing doodles before. I always just paint/draw right on my surface. I sort of think of my idea as I go.

I decided to try some doodles, and you know, they are so freeing! It doesn't matter what you draw because its just for practice. I am however, trying to get some new ides for flowers. New shapes, sizes, etc.

Try doodling, you'll never know what you will discover!

Glass Eye studio sale, Seattle

I love going to this sale. It is held twice a year in their glass warehouse. They offer all original blown glass art pieces. Apparently the glass is from Volcanic ash from Mt St. Helens, at least that's how I remember the story. Bowls, vases, paper weights, and ornaments. These photos don't do the beauty of it all justice, and I had to take them when the crowd died down a bit.

Be sure to click on the image to make them large to see all the yummy details.

Cool fabric

Isn't this fabric cool? I just love it and hadn't seen it anywhere before. I'm not sure what I'll do with it, I just really like it. It's all cotton.

Painting on cardboard

I like the texture in cardboard. The lines, the roughness of it. There is a dumpster near work that I raided that has a lot of discarded cardboard boxes. I think I will get some more. I like the idea of recycling
cardboard, especially when it has artistic value. ♥

Messy desk

I haven't made art for a while, well at least a couple of days. I'm getting discouraged. It's not that I have artist block, it's just that I have so MANY ideas flowing through my head I'm not sure which ones to go with. Do I go with my older style, Curious Creatures, or my newer more illustrative type art. Or, should I just give up and make art for me?
